Construction Mode with open slots

Construction, or known in-game as the Factory allows one to expand their arsenal. By using a Development Material (Devmat for short) and a certain amount of resources, you can build new Kanmusu to expand your fleet as well as build better weapons. Unlike the flash version of the game, the RNG in KC Kai's Construction mode can give you the ships you want the first run, but then troll you on the subsequent runs. As with any RNG, your mileage may vary.

It is important to note that instead of ships being constructed using real life time like the Flash version, Kai uses turns. For example, if you're building a destroyer it will take usually 2 turns, while a Battleship can take more than 10. Using a flamethrower or "Fast Construction Item" makes waiting a thing of the past, and your new kanmusu will be smokin' hot out of the factory. Also, access to the factory is not possible on some Hexagons, so plan accordingly.

Savescumming

One way of getting the ships you want especially since you are up to the mercy of the RNG routines in the game is to save your progress before you start building, then put in the resources for the ship that you want. Wait the amount of turns or use the fast construction item to speed up the process. If the outcome is what you wanted, save, rinse and repeat. If you get a dud result, restart the game by closing it and reopen, load the save file and retry.

The best way to get what you want is ensuring you have the RGame kernel plugin loaded and reset the game using the plugin's in-game reset key combo. This allows less time wastage due to the fact it reboots the game at application level, so the game will reinitialize and also reseed the RNG routines. To obtain this plugin, see the Taihen Plugins page.
